Lake Dredging Began March 5th 2012
We will begin a partial lake dredging process using our contractor, Integrated Lakes Management (ILM), next week. The process will last most of the week. This process, as described in the next paragraph, will begin at the beginning of the lake near Camden Lake Parkway since that is where the silting is most severe.
We will be repeating this for several years to remove silt. It is much less expensive and controlled than trying to do the lake all at once.
ILM will remove sediment from the pond using their amphibious tool carrier. The wet sediment will be pumped through a hose to the shore where it is deposited into the sediment bag. The clean water will leave the bag while the sediment remains. Once the sediment has dried within the bag, the sediment will be spread and seeded. Below is a video which shows the sediment removal process.
